Aerobic Exercise Examples Are Many; Walking, Running, Swimming; Biking;….what’s More Important - Pick One You Enjoy And Get On With It

Aerobic exercise examples? There’re many, many of them.

Running, jogging, biking, walking, swimming, rope jumping, dancing, cardio kickboxing, stair

climbing, horse riding, rowing…..

The list could go on for sure.

The gist is that any activity that’s rhythmic in nature, that uses your large muscle groups and

allows you to sustain continuously for a period of time (usually 20-30 minutes per session) and

that increases your need for oxygen, is an aerobic exercise.

So the many examples I mention above fit this description and hence are examples of aerobic

exercises.

P/S: Aerobic exercise is also known as cardiovascular exercise or in short, cardio exercise.

Knowing the aerobic exercise examples is one thing but the more important thing is - you should

choose one or two that you love and have interest to do.

Why?

Because if you do, you would look forward to doing the exercise and enjoy the benefits and would

stay long in it, to see results.

There’s no point engaging in one you’ve no love or interest in; you would dread it and won’t last

long in it, hence not able to achieve your goals, either to lose weight or to maintain good

health.

OK. We’ve settled on the most important thing.

We now zoom in to look at benefits of aerobic exercise:

1. Works on your heart and lungs by revving up your heart rate and increasing your lung capacity.

Your heart becomes stronger and can pump blood more efficiently with less effort. Your lungs’

capacity increases, hence you can take in more oxygen

2. Reduces your blood pressure

3. Decreases your total cholesterol

4. Improves your glucose tolerence and reduces insulin resistance

5. Relieves your stress, tension, anxiety and depression

6. Increases your blood supply to muscles hence oxygenate them

7. Cranks up your metabolism to burn off excess body fat, so you lose weight

Apart from choosing one or two aerobic exercise(s) you love and like to do, what else you got to

look out for, to enjoy and stayput in the program?

Try these:

a. Get a like-minded exercise partner so that he or she provides the necessary “nudge” to inspire

you when you don’t feel like doing the exercise

b. Vary your aerobic routine so you won’t feel bored. That means you could run on Mondays and

Fridays, go for a walk on Wednesdays and Sundays and so on….. Don’t be rigid in your routine.

The more varied the better

c. Choose a time that’s your best - if you’re a morning person, exercise then in the morning; if

you prefer late afternoon or early evening schedule, go for it by all means. There’s no hard and

fast rule about when you should exercise

d. Put on music to make your exercise “tuneful” and enjoyable. This way, you also pass fast your

exercise time

Popular Aerobics Machines

When it comes to aerobics, you might find that you get a better workout on a machine rather than

actually running or jumping rope. Remember that like every part of a healthy workout routine,

aerobics are exercises that have to be tailored to your body and what is best for your health.

You have to work together with your doctor and your personal trainer if you have one to develop a

system for working out that works for you, and to make sure that whatever you are doing it is the

best for your body and your mind as well.

Machines have become very popular when it comes to working out because sometimes they are easier

to use and easier to get used to. You don’t have to worry about running outside when it is cold

out or finding a way to get your workout when you don’t’ have time if you have a machine in your

home that you can use. The point of aerobic workout is that you are getting your heart rate up

and you are getting into shape. You can do this on a machine as well as running or jumping rope.

There are several different machines that you might want to try. The two easiest and most popular

would be tread mills and bikes. On both of these, you can find that you can get a great work out.

The point of an aerobic work out is to get your heart rate going, so if you are riding a bike or

walking or running on a treadmill, you are going to be having your aerobic exercise.

The reason that these two machines are so popular is that they are handy. Riding an exercise bike

can be something that you do in your living room no matter what time of day or temperature it is

when you finally get around to working. Treadmills are the same too, you can get all of the

exercise that you need while you are at home.

Having machines to use for your aerobic exercise is something that you should be able to do quite

easily no matter where you decide to work out. As long as you are sure that you are still getting

the same amount of exercise, you’ll be able to see the benefits of working on an exercise machine

right away. It can be the best way that you have to get your work out completed and to get

healthier!

Creative Thinking Activity - Aerobics For The Brain

Creative thinking activity depends on a brain that is energized. This article will show you how

to enliven the brain using the five senses.

Aerobic exercises get life-sustaining oxygen into parts of the body often starved. Aerobics for

your senses have the same effect, enlivening them, waking them up, which in turn leads to a

higher level of creative thinking activity.

Our five senses of taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing bombard the brain every second with

millions of pieces of information. A mother is barely aware of the noise her children are making

until a neighbor says: “How do you put up with it!” The lesson? We quickly get accustomed to our

environment so it becomes the norm, which means we fail to take notice of detail and the seeds of

creative ideas.

So here is our challenge - to get the senses to break out of the box so we start noticing things

again.

Here is an “aerobic brain exercise” to get creative “oxygen” to those senses:

Select in your mind something familiar. For this example we will choose A BOOK. Think of a

familiar book you enjoy reading. Now close your eyes and wrap your 5 senses around this object in

your imagination and really live the experience.

TOUCH

What does it feel like to pick it up? Is it heavy, light? What is the texture of the cover?

Glossy or grainy? As you turn the pages do they feel rough or smooth?

HEARING

What kind of sounds do you the pages make as you turn them? Is it a rustling sound due to fine

paper, or a stiff sound caused by thick paper?

SMELL

Does the book have a distinctive smell? When you hold it close to your nose what unique smells

come from the mixture of ink and paper?

TASTE

While not suggesting we take a bite, does your imagination suggest a certain taste? Our brains

are amazing association factories. Often we associate a certain flavor with an object. What

flavor is your book?

SIGHT

What catches your eye as you view the book on the table from the other side of the room? Is it

the size? The color? The title? The artwork?

Now after you have run through your 5 senses in this manner, that familiar object, your favorite

book, will take on a completely new representation in your mind!

Skeptical? Just try it! It will only take between one and two minutes. The images your brain is

left with will stay with you indefinitely. That is the power of concentration.

Where is all this leading us?

When you need to engage in creative thinking activity you depend on a massive input of sensations

and thoughts. Linking the most unlikely sometimes produces brilliant ideas! Applying these

associations from your imagination to your task in hand can produce great results.

CONCLUSION: Try this aerobic brain exercise for your senses just before your next project or

problem which requires serious thinking or creative thinking activity! You will never view

familiar things the same way again and you might just give birth to a brilliant solution or idea.

Aerobics

You already know that it’s important to exercise and keep in shape. You’ve seen it on the news,

been pummeled by it through advertisements, and have likely discussed it with your doctor.

These days, finding the time and the energy to exercise is a workout in itself. From nine to

five, your day planner is jammed with meetings and deadlines. Evenings are taken up with family

and home commitments. It’s certainly not easy, but it is essential that you find time to work

out, even a few times a week. Aerobics are the perfect way to work out, when you just don’t have

the time to work out.

The popularity of aerobics exploded onto the scene in the 1980’s, when leggy beauties jumped and

jiggled to top twenty hits. Along with this type of “dancercise” came the unfortunate

misconception that aerobics were geared exclusively to the buff and the bimbos. In reality,

aerobics hold much more value for anyone seeking an effective workout. Aerobic exercise can be

low in intensity, yet long in duration.

Walking, swimming, biking, jogging or taking part in an aerobics class are all great ways to get

started. It’s important that you begin your exercise regime with a low-intensity workout, and

then increase the tempo throughout the following weeks. For instance, begin with a twenty-minute

walk or job in week one. The following week, try incorporating a jog over some shallow hills to

increase your fitness level. In the third week, increase the duration of your workout from twenty

to thirty minutes, and go up to five times a week.

Aerobics are ideal exercise options for people who wish to lose weight. Despite advances in

modern surgical procedures, equipment and drugs, a healthy diet combined with regular physical

exercise is still the safest and most effective way to drop excess pounds and keep the weight

off. Whether you are trying to lose weight or maintaining your good shape, aerobics can help you

to realize your goal.

Aerobic exercise is also extremely beneficial to your circulatory and respiratory systems. It

increases the circulation of oxygen in your body, allowing the heart to use the oxygen more

efficiently. The body’s muscular system also benefits from aerobic routines. When you exercise,

the increased blood circulation and heart rate work together to enhance the muscles’ ability to

create energy. That’s why a healthy workout can actually leave you feeling more energized, even

after an exhausting day at work. Exercise also benefits your body by helping it to clean away

toxins. Increased blood circulation helps organs like the liver and kidneys to eliminate the

body’s natural waste products. Aerobics are also good for toning muscle and increasing lean body

mass, relaxing tired muscles, reducing stress and aiding in sleep. There are also important

psychological benefits, including improved mood and reduced anxiety and depression.

When you have decided to make the commitment to losing fat and creating the body you want,

aerobic exercise is a great place to start. Begin with walking, cycling or swimming, or enroll in

an aerobics class. Choose a qualified instructor who will show you how to do the exercises, and

help you to determine the degree of intensity that’s best suited to your personal fitness level.

Don’t be shy about exercising in a group setting. You are welcome to work out at your own pace

and if you become tired, you can simply march in place until you have regained your energy.

You have so many reasons to take on a healthy, active lifestyle. Aside from the obvious physical

and psychological benefits, being fit will help you to be prepared to meet any of life’s daily

challenges. When your mind and body are healthy, you’ll have the energy to meet deadlines,

finished projects and succeed. Aerobics can help you become a stronger person in every way.

Aerobics Fashion

Keeping fit and healthy can never be relied on dieting or eating a proper diet alone. It requires

you to go out and sweat a little. For people with more serious fitness and health problem, they

may be even required to exercise a little arduous.

When it comes to physical exercises, most would seek professional help from the clubs or the

gyms, depending on their needs. Aerobics classes are one of the most popular exercise regimens

that most women enroll with.

When you enter these classes you got to be armed with the proper clothing and gears. This is

because with this kind of activity you need to be more comfortable than ever as high chances are

you would be doing strenuous tasks that would produce tons of perspiration from your body.

Aerobics are great physical activities and one of the easiest exercise routines for the most

effective way in keeping you fit and healthy. On the other hand, when you are not properly

clothed, you would not enjoy the activity. Most likely, the lack of comfort brought by the

improper aerobics clothing may end you up not comfortable with the aerobics moves.

The best way to select the appropriate aerobics clothing is to consider how fit and comfortable

it is with you. Contrary to early practice of wearing tight-skinned black leggings and top when

doing those exercises, loose, comfortable wear is always a smart choice. Unlike with the former,

which would restrict your moves with the particular exercise, loose aerobics clothing will allow

you to move with the best blood flow for the most parts of your body.

And while there are great selections of aerobics clothing in the department store, you don’t want

to limit yourself when choosing. You may include fashion sense in picking your clothing. Aerobics

clothing that speaks fashion sense would allow you even greater level of comfort feeling knowing

that you can be your own even when you have to gear up for the aerobics classes.

Shoes, pair of socks, aerobics pants and tops, bags, and any other accessories you will be in

need for should not be entirely dull because there is an array of these clothing pieces that look

fashionable enough without sacrificing sporty-feel and comfort aspects. It doesn’t matter what

size you are, there are aerobics clothing pieces that will fit your fashion sense and preference.

But, remember that you are shopping aerobics clothing and gear that will allow you to move

without restricted range of motions. Hence, consider fabrics that provide ventilation to your

body to ensure you get the ultimate comfort even when with the sweat you get from all those

tiring aerobics moves.

Why Water Aerobics Is Better For Some People

Water aerobics is one of the many types of aerobics exercises available today. Aerobic actually

means with oxygen and aerobics exercises make use of the large muscle groups in our body in order

to maintain them over a period of time and aerobics are also performed in a rhythm. There are

many variations of aerobics exercises and one of them is the water aerobics exercise which is

performed in chest level deep water.

Water aerobics is a very fun way of working out especially during the hot weather. It also helps

relieve the hard work from other regular exercises. Water aerobics is not just splashing about in

the water but is a wonderful way to burn away your fat and build strength while increasing the

capacity to perform aerobics. Water aerobics can greatly benefit people who may be suffering from

arthritis or multiple sclerosis.

People usually think that water aerobics is only about swimming in the water. However, this is

not true about water aerobics. Water aerobics is a great exercise routine for fitness novices. It

is affective for those who want to burn extra calories or just become stronger and be more

flexible.

The resilience that the water provides the users will result in less strain on their joints and

muscles. It is not necessary for you to be a swimmer to participate in water aerobics. This is

because usually water aerobics exercises are performed in waist and chest level water. Other

water aerobics routines like jogging may also be performed in deeper waters. These routines are

performed with the entire body submerged in the water.

Water aerobics exercise can be performed by anyone and by all age groups or fitness levels. This

is because minimum stress is being placed on the joints during aquatic exercising as only 10 to

15 percent of your body weight is not supported by water. So, when compared with regular

non-water exercising, water aerobics is thus an ideal choice. It is suitable not only for healthy

people but is also very suitable for those who may have a medical condition. People suffering

from arthritis, strokes neck and back problems as well as obese people can greatly benefit from

water aerobics.

Nowadays, the swimming pool is no longer the sole preserve of swimmers. Water aerobics exercises

have changed this concept. Water aerobics is now instrumental in improving the cardiovascular

fitness of people. It also results in better endurance due to the use of muscles during the

routines. As a result of the resilience that water provides and also the support that the body

receives from water, there are now fewer worries about getting muscle, joint ore bone injuries.

This is because water aerobics is usually performed in chest-high water which even non-swimmers

can participate in.

Water aerobics is not just simple movements that can be done by anyone without guidance. You have

to put in hard work to get the most out of every water aerobics session. So, dedicate yourself to

learning the movements and practice regularly. Dedicating your extra time to learning more about

water aerobics will benefit you because the classes will become more interesting as you advance.

If you like to push yourself, you can also integrate running exercises in your water aerobics

routine. This will push you to higher extents.

However, it is best that you take it slow in the beginning. This is so that you can steadily and

gradually increase the strenuous degree of movements later as you advance so as not to shock your

muscles.

When performing water aerobics in water level higher than chest level, certain flotation devices

can be used. Besides, there are also other equipments such as kick boards and hand buoys that can

be used. A session of water aerobic exercise will usually last forty to fifty minutes. This

includes time being allocated for warming up and cooling off as well as stretching routines.

As mentioned before, the main aim of the water aerobics is to improve the cardiovascular

condition of a person performing it. Due to the resistance of the water, these water aerobics

exercises will surely help better a person’s strength while improving flexibility. This in turn

could improve the muscular endurance abilities and help the person become more balanced.

Aerobics - How To Succeed Background

Aerobics refers to the type of physical exercise that involves aerobic routines, which refers to

exercise that involves or improves oxygen consumption by the body, by the application of

rhythmical movements. In particular, it defines the concepts of: Flexibility, which is the amount

of movement in a joint or muscle that is attainable with the help of a partner or the use of a

certain piece of equipment.

Aerobics are usually performed to a background of music and is normally enacted in a group

setting led by an instructor, who leads and guides the group to ensure continuity. However, it

can also be undertaken as a solo exercise, and without musical accompaniment, although it is

argued that this is not as beneficial as in the group setting.

The benefits of aerobics are not only the development of physical fitness, but also the ability

to either prevent, or at the very least, reduce the incidence of certain illnesses.

The prescribed actions involve the participants performing a series of different dance-like

exercises. In order to achieve the best results from the participants, aerobics classes are

normally performed at different levels of intensity and complexity depending on the abilities and

physical fitness of the performers.

Many gyms offer the facility of aerobic classes. Each class is designed to accommodate a certain

level of experience of the performers and is taught by a certified instructor with experience

related to their particular class.

Aerobic gymnastics

Aerobic gymnastics, also known as sport aerobics or competitive aerobics, refers to performing

complicated and high activity movements to music, which originate from traditional aerobics, with

a high level of perfectly executed movements which are defined as difficult.

It combines aerobics, sports aerobics, coordinating gymnastics with music, dance movements and

choreography of the entire performance.

In order to introduce fairness, the performances are structured under various categories

according to the age, gender and composition of the group, whether individual, mixed pairs or

trios.

The judging is based on the following movements: strength exhibited whilst stationery and in

motion, jumps and leaps, kicks, balance and flexibility. There are three compulsory exercises:

four successive high leg kicks, four successive push-ups, and a programme which begins with four

jumping jacks, and leads into 32 elements of standing movements and patterns. Performers are

allowed to choose up to ten techniques from following selection: push-ups, supports and balances,

kicks and splits, jumps and leaps. However, the following maneuvers may not be included in the

routines: handstands, tumbling, back flips, handsprings, or aerial somersaults.

The performances are judged on the basis of the quality of the artistic content, the creativity

exhibited, how well the performance was executed, and the extent of the difficulty of the

routines presented.

Sport aerobics is represented in competitions at state, national, and international levels, but

is not established as an Olympic sport.
